The Essentials for Spring

The chill of winter is still in the air, however the warm sun gives us the promise of spring. Even though right now we are comfortable with our extra layers of clothing and perhaps a few extra pounds for insulation, the warmth of spring will demand a shedding of clothing that will expose us.

So now is the time to groom your body…It’s essential!

Pamper your body with these at home body treatments that will make you feel like you’ve spent a day in the spa…

Soak your feet in an essential oil infused foot bath.

Ingredients

  • Hot (not boiling water)
  • Epsom salts
  • A few drops of eucalyptus (or for itchy feet – tea tree) oil
  • A few slices of lemon
  • Light a few candles; put on a relaxing CD and say thank you to your tootsies for holding you up all this while.
  • Soak for about 15 minutes. Then slough off dead skin with a pumice stone and a little soap gel. Rub lemon onto toenails then soak for 1 min more.
  • Rinse and dry. Apply Vaseline liberally and put on some gym socks overnight and your feet will be softer in the morning.

Hair

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of Coconut oil
  • 10 drops of tea tree oil
  • Few drops of Vitamin E oil
  • ¼ cup of grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoonful of almond oil

Heat for a minute or two in microwave, (enough time to dissolve the coconut oil), let cool if mixture is too hot, mixture should be warm not hot. Drizzle on hair and massage into scalp. Wrap with hot towel for about 10 minutes. Then Shampoo out and condition as usual.

Face

To replenish moisture and soothe skin after the harsh winter

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoonfuls of honey
  • 2 tablespoonfuls of Almond oil
  • 6 drops of rose oil

Mix together and put on clean face. Leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Pat dry and skin will be rejuvenated for spring.
