faking it
Everyday we notice
women carrying fakes trying to pass them off for the real thing, Some
of you may have even purchased fakes thinking they were the real thing.
Here are some tips to help you distinguish between what's authentic and
what's not.
- Don't be blinded by the logo . The reason
these high end designer bags are so expensive is not because of their
logo. Most of the time it is because of the quality of the product.
An authentic Louis Vuitton bag is designed to last a lifetime, maybe
even two. You will never find a vintage knockoff! Learn to look for
quality. The quality of the leather, the workmanship etc, these brands
are built by the quality of their products, they never let irregulars
get to the shops. Look at the interiors, the lining and the label; Luxury
products are luxurious all the way. If a certain degree of craftmanship
seems to be lacking, chances are it's not authentic.
- Louis Vuitton: Obvious signs . The material
used is vinyl. Louis Vuitton made in France is stamped on the outside
of bag. Stitching is inconsistent, two many styles combined in one,
monograms not matching at the seams. On an authentic bag, the straps
are tan and they turn brown with age. They are never beige or orange,
furthermore if you see a purse with a worn body and still tan straps,
It's not a Vuitton but a Fuitton!
- Fendi is also commonly imitated . The Fs
are placed next to each other, one up and one down. Please don't try
to pass off an Endi as a Fendi. The only place on the bag that the Fs
meet is on the clasp. Straps are made of dark brown leather and the
material that should line the bag is marked in several places with a
tiny stitching of the word Fendi. Clasp is bound to the leather with
4 screws and is never stuck together with glue.
These are just a few tips to help you spot the fakes (or choose superior
ones)! The question is which is better a $50 fake or a $50 good quality
non-designer bag?
